Who is this Liz person anyway?
Not so long ago, I was a Medieval/Renaissance Studies major at
Wellesley College, these days I'm a programmer/sysadmin for Public
Access Networks (Panix). I've been a member of the Society for
Creative Anachronism for 10 years, and a lacemaker for far longer than
that. Other SCA-type hobbies include spinning, weaving, sewing,
knitting, dying, brewing, baking, soapmaking, and playing the celtic
harp - essentially anything a good 16th century Englishwoman should
know.
My persona in the SCA is Mistress Ilaine de Cameron - a wealthy
wool merchant's daughter living in London in the late 16th century. Ilaine
is very interested in textiles, wool in particular since it is the source
of her livelyhood. She wears lace, lots of it - and she keeps Liz very busy
with her incessant demands for more (her laurel is in lacemaking).
I've got pictures of both my personas:
